Starting to pack for my trips…
Too bad my freaking camera is broken because UCLA is a piece of shit for losing my battery charger. I’ll try to post pictures when I am in Taiwan (and my new $39 glasses).

“IT’S OVER!” XD
So… now I can read and write Japanese to a certain degree. Still need to work on speaking… Hopefully, some people can help me with that! ![]()
Got my $39 dollar glasses today! Yes, they only cost me $39. I’ll post some pics up later. It came in a nice box with a fiber cloth and business card. Pretty sweet deal for glasses with this much.
Ted Stevens and the Internet:
…more days until I am done with this course. (Well, I have to prepare the Japanese placement test for Northwestern, but at least, I will be done here.)
Preparing a creative Japanese skit for tomorrow. Interesting how it’s a little story about a clown. Eh… so much for all the vocabulary I have learned in this class. It really is not much, and there is only so much to say with my little grasp of the knowledge.
Sometimes I think to myself, why am I taking Japanese? Shouldn’t I be taking engineering courses instead? I don’t even know if I’ll make it into the Kyoto International Student studies program. What makes me keep going, I still wonder to this day…
Decided to post an old video today:
Interesting melodic transitions: Chopin’s Fantasie Impromptu, Beethoven’s 3rd Movement of the Moonlight Sonata, and so on.
I actually want to try this out. Doesn’t look too much different from playing piano…
I have been playing this game a lot lately. Definitely fits one of the best old school formula for text games on a new gaming platform. Music presentation, subtle humor, microphone utility. It’s great!
Here is a Tokyo Game Show Ad I came across about it. I posted the English sub version for you people to understand.

I’ll admit it. I lied. I have not kept this blog updated. ![]()
As some of you may know, I have been dealing with a UCLA disaster that occurred a few weeks ago. On 8/5/2006, my roommate’s housing contract ended, so he had to move out by 8 AM in the morning. Housing Services came in to clean up the rooms and somehow, they mistakingly cleaned out mine! I was not supposed to have a clean out service done to my room. I was out that weekend and did not find out about this until 8/7/2006. I had a long 3-day weekend after my 2nd 日本語 midterm.
Well, when I walked into my room, I was surprised at first of how much cleaner it was than before. Then, I realized that my sheets were replaced, my desk cleaned off, my drawers emptied… all the clothing, food, electronics, hygiene, receipts, financial stuff…oh God, it was a disaster. I immediately dialed my parents to order them to come back to my dorm and march into the Housing Services department demanding services. After speaking with about three supervisors, it was determined that my stuff was gone forever. They told me trash is taken out twice daily, so it would have been gone by Saturday.
How could the Rieber manager be so fucking stupid? He said he tried tracking down who had entered the room that day since UCLA keys are electronic. Well, it turns out that the times between my roommate left and my new one came in showed NO ONE ENTERING THE ROOM. WTF! He claimed that my roommate had left the door opened. THAT WAS SO NOT FUCKING POSSIBLE! Out of all the weekends and the KIND of stuff I had, why would he steal it? Like who the fuck steals a Nintendo DS Lite charger or an extra ultra-bulky Dell Laptop battery. Hell, why would someone steal my modified Xbox controller for use on PC???!!! Good luck for that person knowing how to use it. BUT WTF! MY RECEIPTS AND JAPANESE NOTES,GRADED TESTS, AND HOMEWORK! AND MY FUCKING FLASHCARDS THAT I SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS MAKING THEM!!!!!! WHY WOULD SOMEONE STEAL THAT?!
What is interesting is how they would say my stuff would be gone. I FUCKING SAY IT’S STOLEN! HOW COULD SOMEONE BE SO GOD DAMN STUPID?! It can not be mistaken that if someone went through my stuff in my room, he/she obviously knew there was someone still living here. I KNOW ALL OF THEM FUCKING LIED TO ME ON THAT DAY WHEN I TOLD THEM WHERE MY STUFF WAS. WTF MAN! THIS SCHOOL REALLY REALLY SUCKS IN TERMS OF MANAGEMENT! Fucking low paid illegal latino immigrants… looks like they don’t get enough for their fucking paycheck.
…
Well, it’s been three weeks since it has happened. So… hm. UCLA’s Insurance company has been delivering back and forth on what I should do. Basically, I have to formulate a list for each equivalent item lost or show fucking 3 year old receipts (yeah who the fuck has those) for payment. This is just… so fucking stupid… There goes my only happy 19th birthday card from my sister and my Andre Agassi ticket (last tournament he played before the US Open).
FUCK UCLA!
…
Luckily, I still have an A- in my class. God…
Need to go back studying and some skit planning…
Well, what does a guy like me do at 2 AM in the freaking morning on a holiday?
JAPANESE HOMEWORK! YAYNESS!
…along with surfing on ytmnd sites and writing some e-mails. Anyway…
I went back home this weekend to fulfill some private matters. Saw my first friend that I have ever made in my life. (That would be Garry Chen.) On Friday, we both went to see Superman Returns due to its widely acclaimed directing and supposedly blockbuster movie of the summer. Now, the movie itself contained parts that were pretty cheesy (due to the original content in the comic series), though a lot of the action (I won’t describe it here. Go see it.) is refined and eye candy.
Now, as fireworks are being blasted outside during this hour (yeah omg wtf), I must return to my Japanese homework.
My name in Japanese! Well, not quite… well, what I think it is in Katakana: エリク チャn
Something tells me my last name is not right…
